T-Ball is a great way to begin to develop the fundamental skills required to be a baseball player. The league is co-ed and while it is intended for children between 5 - 7 years old, we will allow 4 year olds to play if you feel your child would do well enough playing with children older than them. On rare occasions, we will allow older children to play T-Ball in the event the player is at a beginner's level and is okay with playing with mostly younger children. Teams have one practice per week on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings from 6:15pm - 7:30 pm and a game on Saturday. The game times will either be at 9:15 am or 10:30 am (there may possibly be an 11:45 am game depending upon enrollment levels). Practices and games will take place at Colonial. There are no evaluations for this league.
Players will need a glove, sneakers (cleats are optional), and sports pants preferably without pockets. Jerseys, hats, balls, bats, and helmets will be provided. The registration fee is $45.
As you would expect, the success of our T-Ball league is greatly dependent on having parents and others volunteer to help. Please consider being involved as either an Assistant Coach or Head Coach.
Colonial T-Ball leagues are designed to teach and develop a young player's skills while incorporating a positive Christian influence. The league also provides a great opportunity for outreach. You are encouraged to invite your friends and co-workers who do not attend a local church to register their children for the league.
Team Placements
As our Sports Ministry has grown to the extent that we now have more than 3000 participants annually, the number of "same team player requests" and "specific coach requests" has reached the point that we are no longer able to accommodate all the requests due to time constraints along with our desire to attempt to create "equally skilled" teams. If siblings are participating in the same league, then we will be able to place them on the same team. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that siblings will be practicing on the same night of the week.
With that being said, as this is a ministry in which we use sports as a way to reach NEW families, we will accommodate requests to play together on the same team in which the person(s) you have invited has not previously participated in a Colonial Sports Ministry league. Due to the number of participants, we do not accommodate specific coaching requests unless the coach invited you into the league and this is the first time your child has participated in one of our leagues.
In addition to this we are unfortunately not able to honor specific week day and time practice night requests.
